DepartmentofEnergy.com is a URL hosting a new blog I recently started called "Department of Energy."
It is, of course, built on the phrase, "Department of Energy;" The phrase, itself, is a generic term used by and as a label for many organizations that manage energy-related issues in their respective jurisdictions.
Looking around on the web, we'll find examples of "Departments of Energy" such as the following:
You might ask: "Great, but what does this new blog have to do with investors and this blog, Investorserve?" Also, why are you doing a blog working with URL, DepartmentofEnergy.com?"
The answer to the second one is: Because I can. What follows is my answer to the first:
- If you have long registered domains that are based on generic phrases or words, check to see if they are, or contain, keyword phrases that web-users regularly search on.
- Then check "yourself," frankly, to see if you have any interest in the topics your registered domains address. Energy for me, was something that has been of major interest since the 1970's. Is your knowledge authoritative enough to credibily enable you to write a blog on the topic or at least edit the writing of experts who might post for your blog?
- Check Adsense or other ad-revenue options. You are going to be investing a lot of time in developing a blog project, so you should make sure adequate compensation will be involved. Is, in the case of Adsense, there adequate advertiser interest in the topic of "Energy," "Department of Energy" and so on?
If everything checks for you, you still have a long way to go. Nevertheless, you may be ready to develop generic domains you've had for some time in to successful publishing enterprises.
